INFORMATION At
this time, the Visitor Center, US Post Office General
Store, Life Saving Station and the Methodist Church
are the only structures open to the public. All
other structrues are occupied by NPS personel or NPS
leaseholders. Please respect their privacy.
-There are
excellent shelling possibilities along the beach.
-Surffishing
can be done all along the beach and inlet area.
-Camping
is permitted only along the beach outside of the
Historic District.
-Bird watching
is possible anywhere on the island.
-Ask your
Captain where to clam.
-We are
not allowed to carry pets by order of the Cape
Lookout National Seashore.
-The beach
is a 1.5 mile walk from the Village over a sand
flat. The beach is secluded and beautiful.
-Strong
currents and rip tides are often common along
the beach.
